Cooper Schaum presented his Eagle Project titled “Attleboro Community Garden Potting Table”. He is planning to design and fabricate potting tables for the Attleboro Community Garden. This will include a design that allows for storage beneath the table, and a rail around the table top to prevent the pots being worked on from accidentally sliding off. Cooper is planning to start the fundraising in January and complete the project by the end of April, in time for the opening of the Garden for the 2019 year.
On November 24, 2018, the scouts of Troop 24 hiked the Skyline Trail in the Blue Hills. This is one of the three 10-mile hikes the scouts require to complete the Hiking merit badge, which they are working towards with Mrs. Askew. The climbs up and down were steep, but when we finished the hike everyone was happy that we were one hike closer to our goal. Some interesting things we saw included: a very breathtaking frozen pond, wonderful views atop rocky hills, as well as ridges with distant views of Boston at one side and Braintree at the other.
