Fly-Fishing Merit Badge

For the past few weeks, some of the scouts have been working on the Fly-Fishing Merit Badge with John Stein. One of the requirements of the merit badge is to make your own lure. Mr. Stein contacted the Bear’s Den, a local fly-fishing shop in Taunton, Massachusetts, and they contacted local fishermen who volunteered to teach the scouts the art of lure making.

Each scout made 3 or 4 lures under the guidance of talented fishermen. The results were great as everyone learned quickly.

Big thanks to the fishermen, the Bear’s Den, and Mr. Stein, who were a great help.

New Eagles Celebrated at Court of Honor

Cooper Schaum and Ben Siganoff both celebrated obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout, on October 27, at the Court of Honor. Scouts and friends of Troop 24, including families, attended the ceremony. Attleboro Mayor Paul Heroux and State Representative Jim Hawkins were there to congratulate the new Eagles.
